Geotechnical and Geo-EnvironmentalThe Geotechnical and Geo-Environmental team has been central to Hydrock’s development and has grown from 2 to over 40 consultants in the past 6 years. Recruitment of leading figures in Hydrogeology and Geotechnical investigation and Design has ensured Hydrock’s in-house technical expertise is second to none. This highly qualified and motivated team provides a full range of design services for residential commercial and industrial redevelopment of Brownfield sites and works with clients, local authorities and contractors to develop remediation strategies for dealing with both contaminated land and geotechnical constraints. Developments within Hydrock over the last 2 years now mean that in addition to these services, the team can take their designs and strategies a step further. A separate division, Hydrock Special Projects, has been set up to carry out the remediation contracting, slope stabilisation and drilling works. This end-to-end service and Hydrock’s client-focused approach not only ensures best value for clients but also a wide variety of projects, a diverse client base and an interesting, challenging and varied workload. Civil and Structural EngineeringHydrock has an established, well-qualified and highly experienced civil and structural design team which provides expertise to a broad client base on projects ranging from structural works associated with new housing developments through to bridges, tunnels and major retaining works. As an approved ICE training organisation, Hydrock has a commitment to developing it's personnel who in addition have the tremendous benefit of mentoring from senior managers. InfrastructureThe Infrastructure design team offers a range of services including highways and drainage design, primarily to national housing developers. The department was set up in response to client demand for a comprehensive range of consultancy services which can take a development project right from ground investigation through to completion. The requirement for the services of the infrastructure department is increasing and this is an area where we see great growth potential over the coming years. Architectural and Building Services DesignHydrock personnel have a proven track record in a wide range of market sectors but the majority of the department's work to date has been for the MoD on buildings ranging from a new build fitness centre, battle laboratory and dental surgery, to the renovation and refurbishment of offices and living quarters. Recent success in tendering for new work has expanded the client profile into education, retail and housing development and further growth is anticipated. Mine StabilisationFor 5 years, Hydrock Contracting has been carrying out stabilisation works to the Combe Down Stone Mines in Bath, where a team of approx. 200 miners and surface workers are working closely with Bath and North East Somerset Council and English Partnerships. The current phase of work is expected to carry through until 2009. Other mine stabilisation projects have included the English Nature funded stabilisation work at Westbury Brook, in the Forest of Dean. |
